Harvey Kenneth Joyce (Ken) passed December 2, 2025 at the Gibson House (Ancora Compassionate Care.) He was 87 years old. He was preceded in death by his father Jesse Wilbur and mother Emma Mae P. Joyce. After Wilbur's death on December 7, 1998, Ken took care of his mother for the next 24 years until she passed January 15, 2022. Emma was 103 years old.

Ken worked for Gerald Warren's restaurant most mornings from 5am to 7am. He would leave Gerald's and work his normal shift at Duke Power from 1963 to 1993. During the growing season, he worked with the Tuttle farm family.

Ken played, coached, and umpired softball most of his active life. HIs love for sports, particularly college sports, took him and his friends all over our great nation. He was a lifetime supporter of the UNC Foundation and the NC State Wolfpack Club, which provided the opportunity to purchase football, basketball, and ACC Tournament tickets. Following the tournament, Ken proceeded to attend 25 consecutive NCAA Championships.

Ken was a friend to all and very benevolent. He gave to many and expected nothing. Always kind and generous.
