Lara Crystal McDaniel King, 53, known as Christy to those who loved her the most, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Beacon Place in Greensboro.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Christy was born in Reidsville on March 9, 1973, a daughter of Virginia Craddock Reynolds and the late Larry McDaniel. She was a retired RN who worked as a charge nurse in Women’s Health at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

Christy is survived by her children, Larry “Clay” McGavisk of Eden, John McGavisk (Liz) of Reidsville, and Kristian King of Eden; her mother, Virginia C. Reynolds (Dave) of Stoneville; her siblings, Sam Shelton (Kat) of Wirtz, VA, Gina Griffin (Billy) of Stoneville and Larissa McDaniel of Stoneville; and her grandchildren, Willow McGavisk, John “JP” McGavisk III and Wynter Roberts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to breast cancer research.
