Larry Joe (Joey) Griffin, 64, of Los Angeles, California, and formerly from Eden, passed away on October 21, 2026, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Joey was born on November 9, 1961, to Larry Cleveland Griffin and Barbara Louise Searcy. After graduating from Morehead High School, he began his career in the food and beverage industry, working his way to Director of Catering and Banquets at Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Los Angeles.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Joe and Annie Mae Searcy, Lester and Viola Griffin and other beloved family members.

Surviving are his spouse, Noe Barbarena of Los Angeles; his sisters, Lisa Griffin Price and Robin Griffin Farris, both of Eden; his brother, Larry Brent Griffin (Alice) of Jacksonville, FL and his stepmother, Rita Law of Eden.

Although our hearts are broken, we will find comfort and strength in the pride, love, laughter, kindness and adventure that Joey brought in our lives.

A memorial is planned for a later date.
