Layton Edward Heise, 91, of Martinsville, VA, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.

Layton was born in Powhatan, VA on July 28, 1931, a son of Solomon William Heise and Lillie Mae Duty Heise, both deceased.  He was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Earles Heise of the home; his daughter, Patricia Wilson (Steve) of Stoneville; his grandchildren, Luke Wilson (Emily), Travis Wilson (Roxxy) and Christy Wilson; his great grandchildren, Cheyenne Wilson, Haley Tuttle, Lucian Tucker Wilson, Kennedy Wilson and Jackson Wilson; his god child, Jason Kapps; his stepchildren, Jackie Hall (Ronnie), Debra Massey, June Massey, Gloria Derr, and Donald Massey;

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 770 Eden Road, Stoneville, NC 27048.
