Nancy Elizabeth "Libby" Lawson, 68 of Carthage, NC passed away on September 16, 2021 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.

There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.

Libby was born in Eden on July 20, 1953 a daughter of Harry Samuel Lawson and Betty Carter Lawson.  She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Rockingham Community College.  She worked as a nurse at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill while attending the University of North Carolina to complete her bachelor's degree and Duke University to attain a masters degree in education.  Libby was a devoted mother to her son Tommy.  She cherished every moment she spent with him.  She loved art, traveling, and she was an awesome cook.  She enjoyed visiting friends and family and hosting at her home over the years.  Libby will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Anderson of the home; her mother, Betty Carter Lawson of Eden; her sisters, Brenda Morris of Reidsville and Debbie Swartzlander of Eden; her brother, Sam Lawson of Omaha, Nebraska; her uncle, aunts and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Libby was predeceased in death by her father, Harry Samuel Lawson; paternal grandparents, Samuel Preston Lawson and Sarah Edwards Lawson; and maternal grandparents, Robert Lee Carter and Minnie Grey Carter.

Libby was greatly loved by all her family and friends and will truly be missed.
