In Loving Memory of Rev. Lloyd Eugene Griffin
Lloyd Eugene Griffin, 90, of Eden, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at his residence.
Lloyd was born in Ty Ty, Georgia, on November 11, 1935, the third of eight children born to the late Wals A. Griffin and Marie Hazel McMillian Griffin. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life of 52 years, Pauline Griffin.
Lloyd was a man who could brighten a room with his sense of humor and touch a heart with his compassion. He had a gift for making people laugh, but perhaps even more importantly, he had a gift for making people feel cared for. His kindness and warm spirit touched many lives throughout his 90 years.
Lloyd was a retired Southern Baptist minister who also worked in a lumber yard and spent much of his life as a farmer. His faith, love of God, and willingness to serve others were important parts of who he was. He also loved music, especially the songs of Hank Williams, and many of his favorite melodies will forever bring memories of him to those who loved him.
Lloyd was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his daughter, Myra Hull (Don) of Eden; his son, Micah Griffin (Courtney) of Post Falls, Idaho; his grandchild, Brooke Hull (C.J.) of State College, Pennsylvania; his brother, Earl Griffin of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Those who knew Lloyd will remember more than the roles he held in life. They will remember the man himself—his laughter, his humor, his compassion, his faith, and the way he made people feel welcome and loved. He had a way of leaving a little piece of himself with everyone he met.
Though his earthly journey has come to an end, Lloyd's love and memories will live on through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched. He was deeply loved, he will be greatly missed, and his memory will forever be a blessing.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Draper.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to First Baptist Church of Draper, 1017 Fieldcrest Road, Eden, NC 27288.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the team from AuthoraCare Hospice of Greensboro for the excellent and compassionate care they provided to Mr. Griffin.
Rest peacefully, Dad. Your laughter may be quiet now, but the love you gave and the memories you created will speak for you for generations to come.
