Loretta Ann Hooker Martin, 81, of Eden went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 8, 2021 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Ridge-View Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Tim Butcher officiating.

Loretta was born in Ridgeway, VA on November 12, 1939, a daughter of Harvey Lee Hooker and Naomi Cobbler Hooker, both deceased.  She was a retired cafeteria worker with the Rockingham County School System.

Loretta loved Jesus and her faith was unwavering.  She was so grateful for everything Christ had done for her.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mema, sister and friend.  She loved painting with watercolor and thoroughly enjoyed both teaching and attending painting classes at the Garden of Eden Senior Center.  Loretta Martin will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joretta Hooker and her brother, Larry Hooker.

Loretta is survived by her husband of 62 years, Franklin Delano Martin; her children, Sybil Sellers and husband Mark and Frankie Martin, all of Eden; her siblings, Tommy Hooker and wife Shirley of Blairs, VA and Calvin Hooker of Reidsville; and her grandchildren, Jonathan Sellers and Rebecca Sellers.
