Mrs. Margie Fern Chandler Dew "Mama Dew", 96, passed away Saturday morning, December 19, 2020 at UNC Rockingham Nursing and Rehab.

A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Monday, December 21, 2020 at Ridge-View Memorial Gardens. There will be no formal visitation.

Mama Dew was born in Martinsville, VA on February 28, 1924 a daughter of Walter Lee Chandler and Lula Murphy Chandler, both deceased. She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills. She worked for many years at Dicks Drive-In as a baker. She always referred to her job at Dicks Drive-In as her "Fun Job".

She is survived by her daughters, Billie Sheckells and Susan Combs; her grandchildren, Sonia Sheckells, Kenan Sheckells, Nicholas Combs and wife, Julie and Brandon Combs and wife, Elizabeth. Her great grandchildren, Landon, Katilyn, Mallory, Brantley and Paige and her special nephew, Wayne Light.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her husband, William "Bill" Franklin Dew; her sisters, Sally, Dessie and Carrie and her brother, George.
