Marie Harris “Maw Maw” Kennon, 93, of Ruffin passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at her residence.

The funeral service will be at 11 am on Tuesday June 16, 2026, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Marie was born in Eden on August 3, 1932, a daughter of Thomas Henry Harris and Myrtle Knowles Harris, both deceased. She retired from Burlington Industries. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Wayne Kennon; her siblings, Virginia Ann Paige, Becky Hall, Dewey Harris, Benny Harris; her son-in-law, George Edwards; her grandchildren, Carolyn and Catherine; and her great grandchildren, Dustin and Hailey.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Edwards, Donnie Kennon, David Kennon (Rita), Mike Kennon (Carolyn); her daughter-in-law, Kay Kennon; her grandchildren, John, Judy, Michelle, Susie, Tammy, Tommy, Gayle, Joe, Crystal, Faye, Doug, Matt, Amber, Kayla, Steven, Missy, Rick, Sabrina, Punkin, Johnny, Mark and Cindy. Lenora, Scotty, Claddy, James, Samantha, Troy, and Brandon Gutherie.

She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Johnathan, Tayla, Justin, Hunter, Meagan, Rick, Madison, Viridiana, Jacob, Elise, Sarah, Katie, Dalton, Addam, Kayden, Jasper, Everlee, AJ, Seth, Trip, Kenna, Huntley, Gatlin, Wyatt, Skylar, Alaina, Lilly, Selena, DJ, Deanna and Alexandra, Lydia, Josh, Tara, Jakob, Destiney, AJ, Isaac , Levi, Ethan (Hannah); and her great great grandchildren, , Gage, Gavin, Alex, Kaiser, Nolan, Hudson, Jay, Joselynn, Gunner, Colton, Kaleana, Adaleia, Phoenix, Ivy, Isaiah, Myla, Tyler, Razi, Lizzie, Ashton, and Henry.
