Obituary

Markham Brandon Gillespie, also known as "Marky G", 46, went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2025.  He lived in Eden, North Carolina all his life and was well known.

A service of remembrance will be held at 5 pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 pm before the service at the funeral home.

Mark was born on November 20, 1979.  His first job was with Joe's Pool.  Mark was very close to the owner, Joe Sharron. He said that once one of their customers asked if Mark was Joe's son.

He was then an independent worker with Crumpler's Flooring owner Rick Crumpler.  He was one of Mark's longtime best friends.  Rick's mom, Belinda, was like a second mom to him.

Mark's favorite things were spending time with his kids, Tyler, Mallory and Molly, fishing and just hanging out.  They grew up fishing, riding dirt bikes and just being together.

Later, Mark's family grew with a new addition, Jacy and her children, Miley, McKenna and Maverick.  He loved them as his own.

Mark was predeceased by grandparents, Wilson "Pop" and Maxine Paschall and Roland and Estelle Gillespie; his aunt, April Frazier.

He is survived by his mother, Debra Strausser and stepdad, Louis; his father, Brad Gillespie; his aunt, Dorcas Midlin; his uncle Wilson "Doug" and aunt Carolyn Paschall; his uncle Randy Paschall, and lifetime partner, Terri Beth Penn.
