Marvin "Doodlum" Francis Lillard, 65, of Eden passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A visitation will be held at 3 pm Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home with military honors performed at 4 pm by the Rockingham Co. Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy.  At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Nikki at 1235 Norman Drive, Apt. 8C in Eden.

Marvin was born in Eden on April 26, 1955, a son of James Marvin Lillard and Beulah Gover Lillard, both deceased.  He was a US Navy veteran. He was retired from Virginia Solite and Mohawk.  He enjoyed fishing, going to the mountains and was "crazy" about Diet Coke.  He was "Mr. Fix-It" and made sure that his daughters knew how to repair anything with what they had on hand.  He was a very comical man and loved to make people laugh.  Every Christmas was spent playing Santa Claus at events in Eden and surrounding areas.  Family was very important to him, especially his grandson.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda Grubbs Lillard of the home; his daughters, Jennifer "Jenny" Dawn Lillard Brown and husband Onnie and Frances Nicole "Nikki" Lillard, all of Eden; his adopted son, Christopher "Chris" Harris and wife Bobbie Jo; his sister, Dorrie Coleman of Eden; his grandson, Daniel Marvin Tucker; his niece, Beverly Coleman; his nephew, O.T. Coleman and wife Vicki; his great nephew, Chris Coleman;  his fur babies, Bone, Daisy, Pearl, Killer and his pet bird, Chicken.
