Mary Ruth Manuel Martin, 93, formally of Eden, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Zebulon House.

A service of remembrance will be 11:00AM Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 10 until 11AM at the funeral home.

Mary Ruth was born September 16, 1929, in Stokes County to the late Archie Talmadge Manuel, and Rachel Priddy Manuel. She worked as a librarian for the Rockingham County Public Library. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Eden where she sang in the choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Tony Martin; siblings, Archie "A.T" Manuel, Mildred Louise Stevens, and Nancy Jo Hopkins.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Baber of Wake Forest, and Mike Martin of Raleigh; and granddaughter, Jennifer Martin of Raleigh.
