Melvin
Artis
Nov 11, 1967 — Sep 22, 2025
Melvin Artis, age 57, was born on November 11th, 1967, and was a beloved figure of the town of Eden. Sadly, he passed from this world into the arms of his Heavenly Father on September 22, after living a life dedicated to loving his family and all that he knew.
Melvin graduated from John Motley Morehead High School in 1986 and attended Rockingham Community College. He was known for simply being a good man, kind, honest, easygoing, and hardworking. All who knew Melvin loved him. He was a man of integrity with goodwill and good intentions. He was a problem solver and enjoyed using his mind to figure things out. Melvin will be remembered for his teasing those he loved with a laughter that brought him to tears. Throughout his life he enjoyed racing cars, repairing cars, riding his dirt bike, watching and playing football. Later in life he enjoyed riding his golf cart exploring with his grandkids and anyone that wanted to ride with him. He enjoyed doing most things that would take him outdoors.
Melvin had a heart for pointing others to Christ. He found peace in knowing that Christ had paid the penalty for all the sins that he ever committed and wanted others to have that same peace. He touched so many in our community with his goodness. He was an extraordinary man.
He worked for Envision Plastics as a Maintenance Mechanic where he loved and was loved by his colleagues.
