Michael Stephen Gilbert, 69, of Stoneville passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Due to Covid and to honor the deceased's request, there will be a small private family service at a later date.

Michael was born in Martinsville, VA on May 15, 1952, the son of William Melvin Gilbert and Sarah Opal Martin Gilbert, both deceased.  He was a business entrepreneur and a pioneer for internet services in Rockingham County.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Coggin Gilbert; his sons, William Clee Gilbert and wife Rachel McKee Gilbert and Cody Joe Gilbert; and his sisters, Susan Gilbert Eastwood and Jennifer Gilbert Gesinski and husband Leonard.
