Mildred Wiles Smith, 84, of Reidsville passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 2pm at Boone and Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Wolf Island Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mildred was born in Pittsylvania County on April 22, 1941, the daughter of William Hurbert Wiles and Thelma Mae Jones Wiles, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom, but had formerly worked at Hardee's, Sears and Stoneville Furniture Co.  She was a special caregiver and homeschool teacher to her grandson, Richie.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Toler and husband, Johnny, Diane Hollinghead and husband, Donnie and Teresa Garrett and husband, Ricky all of Reidsville; her brother, William Edward Wiles and wife, Annette of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Angie Gerner (Julian), Kimberly Myers (Kevin), Derrick Hollinghead (Jessica), Richie Garrett, Curtis Hodge and Jason Hodge and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Watson "Curtis" Smith.

A visitation  will be held on Monday evening, July 21, 2025, from 6 until 8pm at Boone and Cooke Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the residence.
