Minnie Barnes Carter, 91, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at UNC Rockingham Healthcare.

A graveside service will be 12:00PM Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11am until 11:45am at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home before going to the cemetery.

Minnie was born August 20, 1932, in Ridgeway to the late Charlie Barnes and Ora Sharp Barnes. She worked in farming.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Melvin Taylor Carter; daughter, Patricia Kingston; and siblings, Grady Barnes, Coleman Barnes, Wren Vernon, Joseph Barnes, and Brenda Burris.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Carter and wife Michelle, James Carter and wife Kathy, Carlene Pinnix, and Mike Carter and wife Gina; sister, Vera Vernon; grandchildren, Adam Carter and wife Crystal, Tara Shearer and husband Matt, Clint Carter and wife Lisa, Eric Pinnix, Jimmy Pinnix and wife Darlene, Terry Pinnix and wife Christy, Tracy Vines and husband Clint, Seth Carter, Jennifer Coplin and husband Less, Kristy Carter, Cindy Kingston, and Kevin Kingston; great-grandchildren, Eli Carter, Addison Carter, Brody Shearer, Bella Reese Shearer, Halie Carter, Sadie Carter, Katie Carter, Blane Chopin, Payton Chopin, Nate Robertson, Noah Robertson, Ashely Stewart, Justin Stewart; and great-greatgrandchild, Oakland Robertson; as well as her son-in-law, Joe Kingston.
