Nelda Sims Ramey, 88, of Eden passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Gibson House Hospice Home.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Meadow View Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home before the service and other times at 617 Bryant Street in Eden.

Nelda was born in Spanishburg, WV on January 31, 1937, a daughter of William Arthur Caudle and Ada Duncan Smith, both deceased.  She retired from Unifi.  She was a member of Osborne Baptist Church.  She enjoyed playing Rook, Uno and Bingo with her children and family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Phelps Ramey; her siblings, Rowena Wood, Shirley Robertson, Dean Chaney, Wanda Caudle, Willard Caudle, Donnie Caudle and Wayne Caudle; and her granddaughter, Nikki Hooker.

Nelda is survived by her children, Rae Hooker, Howard Sims (Tanya) and Rhonda Hooker, all of Eden; her sister, Jackie Griggs of Collinsville, VA; her grandchildren, Michael Brown (Nina), Austin Hill (Cheyenne), Jamie Sims (Ashley), Breanna Evans (Jacob), Dawn Hooker ; her great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Danni, Sawyer and Blair; her special friends, Gloria Matthews and Hazel Roberts Hopkins and numerous nieces and nephews.
