Obituary

Nicholas Blair Eanes, 78, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026.

Born and raised in Greensboro, Nick was a proud graduate of Page High School, where he was known for his spirited school pride as the Page High School Pirate mascot. Throughout his life, he remained deeply connected to the Greensboro community that he called home.

Nick spent most of his professional career in the cemetery and funeral home industry, where he served families with compassion, dignity, and care for many years.

Outside of work, Nick enjoyed photography and was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and UNC Tar Heels. He especially loved the opportunity to photograph the Yankees during Spring Training.

Nick is survived by his daughter, Lindsay (Keith) Schipper of Las Vegas, Nevada; his wife, Linda McNeal; and his former wife, Lee Eanes, both of Greensboro. He is also survived by his grandson, Simon Schipper. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Blair Eanes, and his parents, Polly and Nick Eanes.

Nick will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his loyal friendships, his professional service to others, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Heart Team at Moses Cone Hospital for their compassionate care of Nick.

Celebration of Life details will be shared at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Boone & Cooke Funeral Home of Eden.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick's memory may be made to Gateway Education Center, 3205 E. Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
