Obituary

Norma Kay Caldwell Sprague, 88, passed away, Saturday morning, March 25, 2023 at Annie Penn Hospital.

Norma was born in Umatilla, Oregon on December 28, 1934 a daughter of Walter Earl Cardwell and Dora Queener Caldwell, both deceased. She was a homemaker. She loved to sew and make yoyo quilts. She was a member of the American Legion # 2728 in Ohio and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Ohio and NC. Norma attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a member of Eden Baptist Church.  She loved bluegrass music and watching her westerns, especially Bonanza.  She enjoyed her time living on Block Island, Rhode Island, raising her family and working at the National Hotel as a housekeeper.

Norma is survived by her children, Walter Miskulin of California, Loretta Ali and husband, Abdul of California, Gerald Sprague and wife, Michele of Ohio and Vincent Sprague and wife, Sara of Ohio; her sister, Donna Wilson of Sylvia, NC; her grandchildren, Andrea McCullough, Shannon Edwards, Jade Holland, Cody Sprague, Lori Perkins, Annie Crump, Katie Powell, Abdulkarim Ali, Adam Ali, Anisah Ali, Jennifer Banks and April O'Pray; 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Norma was predeceased in death by her husband, Gerald Emerson Sprague; her children, Amanda Wilson and Donald Dail and her brothers, Kenneth "Pete" Caldwell, Wayne Caldwell, Vaughnon Caldwell and Virgil Caldwell.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Landings of Rockingham for their excellent care given to Norma for the last few months.
