On August 3rd, 2024 Pastor Wayne Cannard, 75, of Eden went to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who he has been serving since 1975.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2pm Tuesday before the service at the funeral home and other times at his residence.

Pastor Wayne was born in Warrenton, Virginia on March 15, 1949 the son of Robert Lee Cannard and Frances Ann Nalls Cannard, both deceased.  He served as Pastor of Victory by Grace Baptist church since it was founded in 1990.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Cynthia Ann Cannard and his wife Evelyn Darlene Cannard.  For the last 7 years he has been longing for Heaven to be reunited with his "Sweet Darlene".

Left to cherish his memory, Pastor Wayne is survived by his daughters, Wendy Owens (Charles) of Stoneville, Toni Elaine Price (Jason) of Eden and Patricia Cannard of the home; his sister, Pat Markham (Rick) of Reidsville; his six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Known by many as Pastor Wayne his kindness extended beyond the members of his church.  His "texting ministry" touched so many lives with daily words of love and encouragement.  He will be greatly missed.
