Phillip Anthony Purdy, Sr., 78, of Eden passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at his home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6 pm Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive freinds from 5 until 6 pm at the funeral home before the service and other times at the residence.

Phillip was born in Eden on June 21, 1946, a son of William Harvey Purdy and Hazel Scott Purdy, both deceased.  He was a retired mechanic with the City of Eden.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Wallace Purdy; his daughter, Michelle Purdy; and his siblings, Darlene, Carolyn, Billy and Wayne.

Phillip is survived by his children, Phillip Purdy, Jr. of Ridgeway, Kim Purdy (Elmer Baize) of Eden; Tammy Orville of Georgia Christie Tredway of Ridgeway and Joy Michelle Rakes of Reidsville; and his grandchildren, Jerry Dale Wilson, Jr., Kimberly Nicole Peeler, Cory Odell and Sierra Penn.
