Raeford McPherson Boyte, 85, of Eden passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at UNC Rockingham Health Care.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. There will be no formal visitation with the family present.  Mr. Boyte will be available for viewing from 6 until 8pm on Tuesday evening, August 3, 2021 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home.

Raeford was born in Spray on February 24, 1936, a son of Marvin Franklin Boyte, and Grace Leonard Boyte, both deceased.  He worked at Mize Motors for 30 years, before retiring from Ralph Barrow Automotive.  He was a member of New Life Chapel and was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Margie Washburn, Elwood Boyte and Douglas Boyte.

Raeford is survived by his wife, Glen Murray Clark Boyte of the home; his children, Darrell Boyte and wife Jennifer of Eden, Darnell Stewart and husband Jeff of Eden, Curtis Clark and wife Patty of Stoneville and Linda Lay and husband Ralph of Eden; his grandchildren, Caitlyn Boyte, Hunter Boyte and wife Beth, Brandon Stewart and wife Tiffanie, Conrad Clark and wife Jennifer, Corbett Clark, Cameron Clark and wife Summar, Greg Smoak and wife Lauren; and his great grandchildren, Braddox Stewart, Tegan Stewart, Kennedy Clark, Emma Grace Clark, Colton Clark, Gabbie Clark, Addie Clark, and Greta Smoak.

The family requests that anyone attending the service to please wear a face covering.
