Raymon Charles Poppleton, 71, of Stoneville, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital after a long-term illness.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm at the funeral home before the service and other times at the residence.

Raymon was born in Syracuse NY on May 20, 1953, a son of James Erie Poppleton and Leah Webb Poppleton, both deceased.  He was a manager for Lerio Corporation and later retired from CommScope as supervisor.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James Poppleton.

Raymon is survived by his wife, Freda Rowe Poppleton of the home; his children, Chris McGowan (Leslie) of Orange City, VA and Tonya McClelland (Juan) of Eden; his grandchildren, Eric Gregory (Deidra), Brandon Hudson (Stacey), Cheyanna McGowan and Brianna Gregory; his great grandchildren, Victoria Gregory, Zoey Gregory, Zion Garner, Xsavior Garner, Azaria Garner, Kash Dillard, Ava Hudson, Allie Hudson and Skye Dillard; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
