Rex S. Mabe, 80, of Stoneville passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at UNC Rockingham Health Care.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Wednesday before the service at the cemetery.  Friends may pay their respects at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home from 2-5 pm on Tuesday and 9-12:30 pm on Wednesday before the service.

Rex was born in Rockingham County on March 27, 1941, a son of Mack Guy Mabe and Lottie Gray Mabe, both deceased.  He was a self-employed carpenter.  He was of the Baptist faith and had attended Fellowship Baptist Church prior to covid.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Mabe and infant, Robert Mabe.

Surviving are his companion of 28 years, Cheryl Lemons; his brothers, Ralph Mabe and wife Shirley of Stoneville and Bobby Mabe and wife Pearlie of Ridgeway; several nieces and nephews; his best friend, Barnie Merritt; and other numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers and food, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 11981 NC 87, Eden, NC 27288, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
