Richard Wayne Ellison, 58, of Eden passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel  Interment will follow in Lawson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends before the service from 2 until 2:45 pm on Sunday at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home and on Saturday at the residence.

Richard was born in Reidsville on October 4, 1966, a son of Paul Taylor Ellison and Irene Curry Ellison, both deceased.  He was a hard-working man, who loved fishing and hunting.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially vacationing with Cathy. He loved his church, Redemption Road Baptist Church, and his church family.  He will be deeply missed by so many.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Glenda Overby.

Richard is survived by his fiancé, Cathy W. Pike; his children, Marie Hopper (Shaun Adams) of Stoneville and Richard W. Ellison II of King; his step sons, Chris Pike (Stephanie) of Eden and Brad Pike of Eden; his sister, Sonya Ellison of Eden; his brother, Paul Ellison (Sandra) of Eden; and his grandchildren, Thomas, Chase, Cole, Kadalyn, Emmerson, Charleigh and Olivia.
