Richard "Rick" Vernon Willis, Sr., 66, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023, at his residence.

The family will receive friends from 5-6PM, followed by the funeral service at 6:00PM on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Hampton Heights Baptist Church.

A native of Rockingham County, he was born January 26, 1957, to the late William Curtis Willis, Sr., and Mary Meeks Willis who survives. He retired from Miller Brewing Company after 37 years of service. Rick was an avid golfer, and enjoyed his Lynrock Golf Course friends, as well as the Legends of Lynrock Golf trips.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Curtis Willis, Jr., and Andrew Lee Willis.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Meeks Willis of the home; children, Richard "Rich" Vernon Willis, Jr. and wife Shannon of Burleson, Texas, Kisha Willis Thompson and husband Steve of Madison; the mother of his children, Bambi Willis of Eden; sister, Maryanna Wilson and husband Al of Charlotte; grandchildren, Ethan Evans and wife Rebecca, and Phoebe Elle Willis.

The family would like to thank Kenny Thacker for being a lifetime friend of Rick.
