Richard Wayne Watson, 77, of Eden passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2020 at Cone Health.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am Monday, June 1, 2020 at Overlook Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, May 31, 2020 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home.

Richard was born in Stuart, VA on December 19, 1942, a son of Coy Wayne Watson and Hattie Witt Watson, both deceased.  He was retired from Fieldcrest Mills.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ann Watson.

Wayne is survived by his sons, Coy Watson (Angie) of Cascade, VA, Ricky Watson of Eden, Steve Watson (Jennifer) of Eden; his sister, Polly Palmer of Gretna, VA; his brother, Marvin Lee Price (Harriett) of Eden; his grandchildren, Jessica "Pooh" Garrett (Fred Ramsey), Toy Watson (Jessica), Madilyn Owens, Dalton Owens; his great grandchildren, Trey Garrett, Paislee Owens, Easton Watson; his niece, Lindsey Sizemore and his nephew, Peyton Sizemore.
