Robert Benton Dishmon, 80, of Eden, passed away on February 13, 2022 at UNC Rockingham Health Care.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Dan View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 pm prior to the service and other times at the home of his son at 1188 Garrett Road, Eden.

Robert, also known to many as "Bub", was born March 18, 1941 to the late Hallie Holly Dishmon and Jesse Benton Dishmon.  Robert attended Draper High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy.  He worked many years as a delivery driver bringing Coke, Pepsi and Sundrop to stores.  Later, he would go to work for Lillard Beverage Company in Reidsville.  Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping and watching NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred Dishmon; sisters, Ann Shropshire and Carol Booth; great granddaughter, Arianna Boykins and great grandson, Jeremiah Amos Wright.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Dale Dishmon (Teresa) of Eden, Raine Dishmon (Ashleigh) of Southport, Steve Dishmon (Dee Dee) of Eden; his grandchildren, Austin I. Dishmon of Atlanta, Ga., Brittany Noe of Jacksonville, Fla., Chandler Tucker of Southport, Courtney Prewette (Tyler) of Eden, Faith Nugent (Seth) of Madison, Ala., Jack Kelly of Wilson, Kylie Bell (Rasheem) of Virginia Beach, Va., Ryan Dishmon (Heather) of Stoneville; his great grandchildren, Alexis Boykins, Allison Nugent, Ava Boykins, Evelyn Nugent, Dakota Prewette, Hallie Wright, Isla Nugent, Reece Dishmon, Waylon Dishmon, Zaria Boykins; his sister, Margaret Porter (Johnny) of Eden; his brothers, Booker Dishmon (Nancy) of Eden, Wallace Dishmon of Eden, William Dishmon (Betty) of Eden and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
