Robert Aaron Shockley, 91, of Eden passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at UNC Rockingham Hospital.

There will be no formal services.

Robert was born on February 24, 1931 a son of Herbert Edwin Shockley and Bessie Williams Shockley, both deceased. He was a retired veteran of the US Navy. His Navy assignments included naval aviation storekeeper and chief petty officer. While stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, Robert was a leader of a boy scout troop and he became general manager of the boys little league teams.

He is survived by his children, Rhapsody Rhodes of Eden, Robin Mitchell and husband, Tim of Petersburg, TN, Robert Shockley and wife, Ronnie of Texas and Richard Shockley of Eden; his siblings, James Shockley and wife, Joyce of Eden, Roger Shockley of Eden and Hilda Jones of South Carolina; his grandchildren, Tim Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Shannon Mitchell, David Shockley, Cody Harjers, Bret Shockley and Allyson Shockley and 4 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his siblings, Elaine Scott. Claude Shockley, Thurman Shockley, Galen Shockley, and Turner "Bill" Shockley.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in memory of Robert to the Veterans Organization of their choice.
