Rodney Charles Cardwell, 69, of Reidsville passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on June 30, 2022, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm on Thursday before the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Rodney was born in Leaksville on January 3, 1953, a son of Virginia Bennett Cardwell and the late James Junior "June" Cardwell.  He was a retired machine operator with Container Corp.  He was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church.  He enjoyed playing golf.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Shane Aaron Cardwell.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Cheryl Rorrer Cardwell of the home; his children, Andrew Tyler Cardwell of the home, and Hope Black; his mother Virginia Bennett Cardwell of Mayodan; his brothers, Ronnie Cardwell (Antoinette) of Winston-Salem, Randy Cardwell (Dawn) of Mayodan, Ray Cardwell and Kenneth Cardwell (Diane) all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his grandchildren, Angel Dawn Christley, Kristalyn Black, Kaitlyn Black, and Christian Black; his son-in-law, Chris Black and his beloved companions, Rufus and Brownie.
