Ronnie Edwin Hooker, 79, of Eden passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Gibson House.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Overlook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm before the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Ronnie was born in Draper on May 9, 1942, a son of Irvin Moir Hooker and Ida Edwards Hooker, both deceased.  He was a retired police officer with the City of Eden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ann Jones, and Shelby Jean Corum and his brother, Tommy Hooker.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Barbara Terry Hooker of the home; his children, Tamara Fix and husband Frank of Eden, Robin Jones of Eden and Rhonda Hooker of Eden; his sister, Betty Sue Winkelman  and husband Richard of O'Fallon, IL; his grandchildren, Mark Fix, Ron Fix and wife Lauren, Andrew Fix, Dustin Cochran, Kyra Jones, Avalon Hopkins, Kloe Jones, Lauren Hopkins; and his great grandchildren, Alexis Fix, Dakota Fix, Lacie Fix, Lennon Fix, Maggie Fix, Josie Fix, Stella Fix, Patrick Fix, Aria Cochran, Kamila Price; and numerous special nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or to North Side Baptist Church.
