Sara Mae Corum Compton, 85, of Eden passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 pm on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the funeral home.

Sara was born in Eden on March 15, 1936, a daughter of Louie Corum and Ola Gauldin Corum, both deceased.  She was retired from Spray Cotton Mill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John David Compton, her son, John Compton; her siblings, Melvin Corum, Garland Corum, Wayne Corum, Dean Corum, and Phillip Corum; and her grandchild, Dorothy Edmonds.

Sara is survived by her children, Tim Compton of Eden, Janice Cochran of Reidsville; her siblings, Lena Julian of Eden; Fetzer Corum and wife Squeak and Gladys Durham of Eden; her grandchildren, Michelle Coe, Little John Compton; her great granddaughter, Taylor Edmonds and her four great granddaughters.
