Obituary

Sharon Kay Stephens-McCandless, 76, of Eden passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021.

A private family service will be held at later date.

Sharon was born in Lakeville, Indiana, a daughter of Ralph Leet Stephens and Goldie Mae Puckett Stephens, both deceased.  She was a retired teacher with the Rockingham County School System who had taught at Draper and Douglas Elementary Schools. She loved her church family at Osborne Baptist Church, spending time at the beach and with her family.  She also loved to dance.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Wayne McCandless and her brothers, Gene Stephens and Ronald Wayne Stephens.

Sharon is survived by her children, Chet Chrapliwy (Nicki) of Eden, Cathe Cox (Jeff) of Stoneville and Rick Chrapliwy (Angie) of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Amanda Cox, Megan Blanke, Ryan Cox, Caitlin Page Chrapliwy, Jacob Chrapliwy, Sarah Chrapliwy, Abby Chrapliwy, Nick Chrapliwy; her great grandchildren, Evelyn and Norah Rivers; and her special cousin, Debbie Caudill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
