Shelby Jean Brown Lewis, 80, of Eden passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home.

Shelby was born in Eden on August 8, 1940, a daughter of Sidney Edward Brown and Myrtle Hodges Brown, both deceased.  She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills and a member of Wayside Church of the Living God.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was always there for everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Ray Brown and her daughter-in-law, Veretta Odell Gibbs.

Shelby is survived by her children, Jimmy Irving Gibbs of Eden, Donald Eugene Gibbs and wife Risa of Eden, James Irving Gibbs, Jr. of Eden, Kenneth Ray Gibbs and wife Sandy of Pelham, Mark Anthony Gibbs of Eden, Barbara Ann Woods and husband Jerome of Eden, Tammy Lynn Gibbs of Eden, Debra Kay Wallace and husband Todd of Providence, Tina Marie Sallie of Eden; her brother, Sherman Edward Brown and wife Diane of Eden; her 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
