Sherman Edward Brown, 87, of Eden passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at his home.

A private memorial service will be held.

Sherman was born in Eden on July 19, 1938, a son of Sydney Edward Brown and Myrtle Hodges Brown, both deceased.  He retired from Fieldcrest Mills with over 40 years of service.  He loved to play golf and loved his golfing friends.  He was led to the Lord and was saved two months ago.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Laverne Brown; his son, Herbert Brown; his sister, Shelby Brown Lewis; and his brother, Bobby Ray Brown.

Sherman is survived by his companion, Dianne Dyson; his children, Johnny Brown (Barbara) and Mike Brown (Jamie); and his five grandchildren, Keisha Brown, Daniel Brown, Jason Brown, and Jamie Brown.
