Stephen Darrell "Steve" Patterson, 69 of Eden passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 9 until 9:45 am at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home before processing to the grave for the service.

Steve was born on March 5, 1951 in Rockingham County a son of Clyde Fletcher Patterson and Laura Joyce Patterson, both deceased. He worked as a farmer most of his life. Steve loved Jesus and followed in example. He loved, and read his Bible often and had numerous friends. His family was special to him, and he will be missed by all. He always had a kind word for everyone, was a "jack of all trades", very smart, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.

He is survived by his sisters, Marie Hulse and husband Fred of Martinsville, VA, Heidi Heffinger of Eden and Pam Carter and husband, Darrell of Eden; his brothers, Johnnie Patterson and wife, Bonnie of Pelham and Frankie Patterson and wife Eleanor of Stoneville; his nieces, Erica Evans and husband, David, Jill Heffinger Gillespie and Holly Carter; his nephews, Josh Heffinger, Derek Patterson, Scotty Carter and Jonathan Paterson and finance', Tessa.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Patterson.

The family will receive friends at the visitation only.
