Mr. Taylor Wilson Purdy, Jr., 45, of Eden passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Baldhill Missionary Baptist Church, 593 Bailey Road in Madison.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:45 pm at the church before the service and other times at 313 Greenwood Street in Eden.

Taylor was born in Eden on December 27, 1977, a son of Taylor Junior Purdy and Shirley Watkins Shelton.  He worked for Inman & Son Logging.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Andy Griffith Show reruns.  He loved playing with his grandson "Scooter".

He was predeceased by his wife, Sheryl Odom Purdy.

Taylor is survived by his special companion, Heather Southern; his daughters, Elizabeth Brooke Purdy of Danbury and Chelsey Inman of Asheville; his father, Taylor Junior Purdy and wife Phyllis of Eden; his mother, Shirley Watkins Shelton of Mayodan; his siblings, Becky Frye, Michelle Mock and James Purdy, all of Eden; and his grandchildren, Brantley Hicks, Raelynn Land and Melana Alley.
