Terry Lynn Evans, 71, of Stoneville passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Ancora Hospice Home.
A service of remembrance will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm before the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
Terry was born in Leaksville to the late Harvey and Margie Evans. He grew up in Stoneville and was a member of Hodgin Memorial United Methodist Church. He graduated from Stoneville High School in 1971 and Nashville Diesel College in 1972. He loved the Stoneville community and all the fine citizens. He proudly served as a volunteer fireman for Stoneville for over 20 years.
His career years were spent constructing beautiful homes for he loved building and creating unique things. In later years, he worked in furniture assembly and warehousing.
Terry never met a stranger and could always make you smile. He had a gentle heart and cared deeply for everyone in his life. He had a strong love for the Lord, Deb, his family, classmates, friends, and his goddaughters. He will truly be missed by all who know him.
Terry loved racing, enjoying time with friends at Watkins Garage, and Eagle Hills Golf Course. He was a huge music lover and was a prince on the dance floor.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah S. Evans; his brothers, Dwight (Dawn), Ted (Betsy); his nephews, Mark, Mike, and Todd; his niece, Paige; his father and mother-in-law, Eddie and Vera Smith; his goddaughters, Riley and Sofia; and his fur baby, Sadie Jo.
A special thank you is extended to LifeBrite Medical of Pine Hall and Ancora Compassionate Care of Rockingham County for their care and compassion during his illness. A very special thank you to his caring and faithful friends, Billy, Rick and Jerry, and his friend and caregiver, Donna.
