Vernell Compton Hubbard, 74, of Ruffin passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Ruffin Stacey Baptist Church Cemetery.

Vernell was born in Hurt, VA on February 16, 1947, a daughter of Buster Compton and Gracie Clay Compton.  She formerly worked for Fieldcrest Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stafford Gray Hubbard and her sister, Elizabeth Pulliam.

Vernell is survived by her sisters, Geneva Mary Smith and Janie Marie Pulliam, both of Virginia.
