Virginia Ann Shown Rice, 83, of Reidsville, NC passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11am at Boone and Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11am before the service at the funeral home.

Virginia was born on November 16, 1942, in Reidsville, NC. She was the beloved daughter of Hobert and Nettie Shown. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and love touched everyone who knew her. Virginia enjoyed her flowers, giving hugs and dipping her (snuff). She loved the Lord with all her heart.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Griffin, Patty Adkins (Mark), and Mary Richardson (Buddy); her grandchildren, Randall Hundley, Dustin Griffin, Ashley Jones, Jordan Griffin, Mackenzie Griffin, Jensen Griffin, Morgan Small (Wesley), Tyner Richardson, Katlyn Gauldin (Hunter); and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her siblings, Billy Shown, Charles Shown, Thomas Shown, William Shown; and her grandchild, Zachary Benfield.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
