William David "Billy" Hazelwood, 49, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his home.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Billy was born in Eden on March 4, 1976, the son of Kenneth Vann Hazelwood and Wanda Carter Hazelwood.  He was a self-employed painter and handyman.  He was a good man who looked after his family.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, William Junior Carter, Ethel Carter, Roy Hardin Hazelwood, Elizabeth Hazelwood and his nephew, Timothy "Pete" Carter.

Billy is survived by his son, Kenneth Mason "Gage" Hazelwood (fiancé, Tamya); his daughter, Courtney Hogan; his granddaughter who was his pride and joy, Raiah Lashae Hazelwood; his grandchildren, Tucker Moore, Elani Hogan; his parents, Kenneth and Wanda Hazelwood; his siblings, Carol Ann Vernon (Samuel), Tonja Hazelwood; his step sisters, Audrey Lovelace and Hazel Crowder (Jimmy); his wife, Sheila Anderson Hazelwood; and his nieces and nephews, Jessica Carter, Michael Pulliam II, Joshua Pulliam and Emilie Lovelace.

The fmaily would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Eden Cancer Center and to Ancora Compassionate care for their excellent care of Billy during his illness.
