William Vestal Wilson, Sr., 84, of Cascade, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday, February 10, 2025, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm Monday before the service at the funeral home.

William was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 14, 1940, the son of John Martin Wilson and Helen Porter Wilson, both deceased.  He retired from Spray Cotton Mills after 60 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Evelyna Bailey Wilson; his son, John Wayne Wilson; and his sister, Carolyn Wilson Bateman.

William is survived by his children, Deborah Wilson Bliss (Tony) of Ridgeway, VA and William Vestal "Bill" Wilson, Jr. of Cascade, VA; his sister, Connie Wilson Williams (Ken) of Fancy Gap, VA; his grandchildren, Crystal Manning (Artie), Lauren Graves (Chauncey), Stephen Wilson (Christina), and Jason Bliss (Francesca); and his great grandchildren, Ryan Hayes, Mason Manning, Colton Wilson, Julian Bliss and Adrian Bliss.
