Mr. Kenneth Eugene Gammons, 79, of 7372 Hwy 87 North in Reidsville, passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Gammons was born in Mt. Airy on March 10, 1933, a son of Lester and Hazel Reynolds Gammons, both deceased. He was retired from West Bend. He was a very loving man, one of the finest Christian men anyone will ever know. He is survived by his wife, Lois Gammons of the home; his children, Rhonda Utt and husband Tommy, Dwight Gammons and wife Debbie, and Donna Gammons, all of Winston-Salem; stepchildren, Terry Duke and wife Jana of Reidsville, Tyler Duke and wife Lynn of Summerfield, Ben Duke of Reidsville and Phyllis Cayton and husband Dean of Reidsville; brothers, Posie Gammons and Lee Roy Cook and wife Marie; his sister, Vera Chilton; and his grandchildren, Brandon Bunker, Justin Gammons and wife Jordan and Logan Gammons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Gammons. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Thursday immediately preceding the service at the church.
